We had fried rice, scallops w/ broccoli, tiger prawns and chili crab. Ingredients were fresh from the start, so the only thing to judge is the way they cook/ how they season the fresh ingredients.
My guess is that they chef was a bit greedy in a sense that he/she wanted to highlight what he/she added rather than keep the natural taste itself. For example, chili crab’s chili sauce was incredibly strong. It made me want to taste the sauce more than the crab. And the same happened with the prawns. I’m not saying it’s bad, but it would’ve been a bit more natural if the original ingredients took center stage.
All in all, I would definitely revisit. One thought for argument is that price is a bit steep. We paid MYR605 for our dinner dishes. As a quick reference, Malaysia’s minimum wage was MYR1,000 back in 2016 (see https://www.malaymail.com/s/1111619/new-minimum-wage-to-kick-start-on-july-1). Even assuming a natural salary hike, our family consumed c. 60% of an average minimum wage earner with 4 dishes.
