* Update 2: Same price, but cheeseburger now comes with french fries (September 14, 2018)
* Update: Issues with the saltiness seems to be resolved (Aug 19, 2018)
A new burger place emerged at the center of SCBD. Le Burger serves on-the-spot-grilled premium-made burgers. Key characteristics of their flagship product, Cheeseburger are: i. Smokey flavor, ii. Amazing cheese, iii. Full throttle greasiness, and iv. Crispiness of the patty. Burgers were pretty nice but relatively small in size and slightly salty. I’m not sure of the pricing – i.e., whether one would happily pay IDR110k for a relatively small cheese burger.
Moving onto the Kimchi Dog, I was a bit surprised by the huge portion of the serving. First bite was also a freshing surprise as I would have never expected to feel the cold kimchi (which is supposed to be served cold as ban chan 반찬) feel inside my mouth. However, as we Koreans always crave for Kimchi 김치 (especially when having western food to balance the greasiness of the food) it was a perfect marriage for me. I can’t judge how this would play out for non-Koreans. On a general note, I would judge that the sauce and Kimchi 김치 were a cool dynamic duo. Of note, Kimchi 김치 was not aged (old fermented) which thankfully doesn’t give you the sour flavor. Overall, two thumbs up for the experiment!!
Chicken burger was simply chicken replacing the beef patty. The crispiness of the chicken patty was surprising. And, the chicken patty was pretty thick.
Truffle burger was something that I can’t seem to understand. Due to my dull tongue, I couldn’t tell the difference between the cheese burger and the truffle burger.
