As always, the fine-dining experience at Suma Jakarta was superb. Suma transforms raw ingredients with a twist of Asian taste and culture. And, the two chefs (Rachel and Ryan) seem to enjoy the reactions of visitors at the bite. Their website writes… “Conveying the beautiful yet diverse East Asian cultural heritage through a dining experience.” Interior was minimalistic with black and white tone being less of a distraction for the taste buds.
Most of the dishes were quite small in size and first impression might be a bit disappointing due to its petiteness of each dish. However, on a collective level, you will go home with a stuffed belly, so I would not worry too much about the portion of each dish. The chefs and the staffs come by with each dish, explaining the details and backdrop of the making – making the dish more enjoyable at the bite. I would definitely come back for more.

It was simply a “wow” fine dining experience. All the dishes served presented surprising mixture of everything. Also interesting was that the dishes had Korean interpretations. It was an unforgettable dining experience in Jakarta! Words can’t explain. Must visit!
