Wugobjib 우곱집 was introduced by my son – who just got accepted to a university in Seoul. He told me that this was one of his favorite gobchang 곱창 places in Seoul. First impression is that the place is super clean. I would assume this place opened just recently evident by the number of Instagram followers were only 25 at the time of writing this post. All the dishes and utensils had no stains whatsoever.

The basic servings were the usual toppings and sauces, including wasabi, salt, sliced garlic, and ssamjang 쌈장. For the banchan 반찬, they give you a small portion of green onion slices, radish, and marinated spicy crab cuts 양념게장. Surprisingly, they give you refills of the spicy crab cuts. Kimchi soup 김치찌개 was also a freebie, and I swear, it was one of the high-quality kimchi soup 김치찌개.

The real deal was the gobchang 곱창 and daechang 대창. We didn’t order the set menu and opted for a la carte because that’s what my son wanted to have. We ordered 2 portions of daechang 대창 and gobchang 곱창 each – so 4 portions in total. The staff began grilling off the daechang 대창 first because it takes long to grill them. And soon enough, the waiter started grilling the gobchang 곱창. The grill was done over a charcoal fire, not over a cast iron pan. Because of that, the grilling process is clean and spotless. You don’t see grease splattering around the dining table.

I would give big thumbs up for the gobchang 곱창. They were full of gob 곱 and melted like butter in my mouth. However, I don’t think I would re-order the daechang 대창. If you take a look at the second picture below, there was nothing left of the daechang 대창. They were simply empty shells.

The last part of the food journey at Wugobjib 우곱집 was with bibim naengmyeon 비빔냉면 and Special Yang Fried Rice 특양볶음밥 (with extra cheese). Both very generic and no surprises there. The waitress was kind enough to share us the cheese with honey as a dessert.

Would I come back? Yes! And what would I re-order?
- Gobchang 곱창 all the way!!
