[KR] Ming1956 @ Yeouido 여의도, Seoul

It’s been a while since I last visited Ming1956. The shop moved to a new building a decent it’s now located at the basement of Hosung building 호성빌딩 in Yeouido 여의도.We ordered the lunch set menu, which was the most economical pick. This was a 6-course meal and perfect for business luncheon meetings.

  • The first menu was Ming Special Salad. It was a small dish comprised of salad and salmon covered with a sweet sauce.
  • Second on the menu was crab meat soup with fried rice particles. The soup was incredibly thick yet, it wasn’t soothing enough.
  • Next was the seafood and veggies stir fried mix. The sauce was interesting as it was savory and sweet.
  • The fourth menu was chili shrimp. They served us each two big fried shrimps covered up in sweet chili sauce. This menu was our guests’ top pick
  • Next, we had stir fried veggies with mushroom and meat chunks served with rolled steam bread.
  • Last but not least, the final menu was the jjajangmyeon 짜장면. It was a mini-sized jjajangmyeon 짜장면 and the quality was below par.

Overall, I miss the previous venue, which had a classic retro vibe to it. The new location was more of a modern restaurant without any Chinese touch to it. Food was still enjoyable with the lunch course being the best pick for a business meeting. See my previous posting attached below.
