Went in for a quick lunch and had the basic Shiromaru Motoaji. Service was fast and prompt, while the ambiance was somewhat uniform fusion Japanese – in other words, what you see here, you will see elsewhere.

I was really shocked by the smelly (stinky) soup. Maybe it’s because I am unfamiliar with pork broth, but at the end of the day, it was a objectively too smelly. Ended up adding a lot of pepper on the soup. However, noodle was well cooked; pork belly was extremely juicy and tender; sea weed was fresh and had great sustaining taste; and egg was perfectly boiled. Overall good but again, soup was a bit stinky – which actually defeats my purpose of coming here for the soup.
