The one flavor that I quite don’t understand until now is the sugary flavor in Chinese-Indonesian food. Kaca Mata serves various meat – which had diverse taste to them – served with rice or noodles. The meat flavors were not that sophisticated nor deep but were good value worth. Their flagship menu Honey Roast Pork (Char Siu) was amazingly well-roasted with some burnt ends to some parts, but neglectable. I would rate this menu slightly on the sugary side, which I won’t be able to consume a whole lot. Pork belly chucks were juicy and crispy on the outside (just the way I like), chicken was soft and well seasoned on the skin. The pink-ish duck was where it caught me by surprise. Also sugary and unexpected for a Korean tongue. Well, don’t get me wrong, it was generally okay. The noodle version was better the rice one.
