Tucked into the basement of Yeoksam’s sleek Centerfield complex, Gongi proves that some of Gangnam’s most exciting Korean food is found one floor down. Born in Hannam-dong, this modern Korean dining brand now brings its refined, playful cooking to the heart of Seoul’s business district.
The venue
Gongi sits on B1 of Centerfield East at 231 Teheran-ro, sharing the address with Josun Palace and a strong line-up of upscale restaurants. The entrance sets the mood right away: warm wood panels, soft linen curtains, and a gold-embossed logo inspired by the Korean word for a rice bowl. Inside, the space feels calm and polished, with walnut tables, cream upholstered chairs and custom ceramics. Private rooms with long tables make Gongi a natural fit for business dinners, client meetings and family celebrations.

The food review
The undisputed star was the gosari taco. Soft shells come packed with seasoned bracken fern, fresh herbs, pickled jalapeño, bright salsa and a creamy spiced sauce. Earthy, tangy and fresh all at once, it’s a brilliant mash-up of Korean namul and Mexican street food, and the one dish we’d order twice.

The bossam is another winner. Thick slices of pork belly are seared to a caramelized finish and served with angel hair noodles, a dab of cod roe, a vibrant green sauce and fresh kimchi. It’s comforting and creative at the same time.

Regulars also swear by Gongi’s signature minari shrimp pancake, the grilled beef sirloin and the crispy sesame boneless chicken. Save room for at least one of them.

The verdict
Gongi Centerfield delivers modern Korean cuisine with style, generous creativity and a polished setting. The gosari taco alone is worth the trip, and the bossam makes a strong case for a return visit. Whether you’re hosting a client or treating your family, this is one of Yeoksam’s most rewarding dining spots.
