[ID] Ding Ding Korean Noodle @ SCDB Park, Jakarta

Ding Ding Korean Noodle is located right in front of the main lobby of SCBD Park and right next to Saemauel Korean BBQ. In a nutshell, the shop offers Korean-style casual Chinese cuisine including Jja jang myeon 짜장면, Jjam Ppong 짬뽕 and others. However, due to the exterior design and dis-positioned Google map, it seems like visitors might have difficulties finding the place.

The first impression of the restaurant was the usual and casual Korean-Chinese restaurant. Not too fancy, but not too sloppy. Servers were attentive and fast to respond, however, I think they need more servers to service the customers. Based on some of my recent visits, the shop was packed with customers.

On the food… Portion is amazingly big so be prepared to leave with full belly or doggy bag the rest. Jja jang myeon 짜장면 had nice firey taste to it and contents were pretty rich. However, the noodles were a bit clogged up after couple of minutes and meat chunks were a bit chewy.

The real surprise came from the Jjam Ppong 짱뽕. First, the soup was less watery and a lot thicker than the usual. Also, after a couple of sips of its fire-flavored soup, I felt sweat running from my face. Second, the condiment chunks were rich but also easy to consume. I think it was one of my rare moments I ate most of the toppings on the Jjam Ppong 짱뽕 (I usually leave most of the veggies behind). Lastly, the portion was again super large.

Conclusion: Overall, price was reasonable and taste was okay. So, I would re-visit Ding Ding.
