We had mie ayam at Mie Inti for breakfast and we were very happy with the quality of this simple dish. The shop had history, the vibe (the shop seemed to be obsessed with calendars) and good food, which somehow boosted the credibility of the dish even before they were served.
The first impression when you enter the shop was “did time stop here at the restaurant?” The dining experience at Mie Inti was literally a back-to-the-future experience – the interior of the shop looked like was stuck in the 80s. If you take a look at the tables and chairs… You probably wouldn’t be able to purchase them at present time.
We had poached eggs and Mie ayam. Poached eggs were small in size but rich in flavor. . Add a pinch of black pepper and it is just perfect. Mie Ayam was very basic. However, the shop was generous about their toppings of minced chicken, Chinese cabbages and steamed wontons. Overall portion was big. Add some sambal, black pepper and a splash of fish sauce and this dish turns into a monster. I ended up finishing everything inside the bowl. I would revisit when in town.
