Mimiok 미미옥 is a shabu shabu place located near the Yongsan train station. The shop is nested inside a traditional Hanok 한옥 structure with a trendy modern twist. It is the perfect place for dating and/or foreign guests.

Pricing was a bit expensive for this type of food, in my view. We ordered the set menu which is comprised of vegetables, meat, minari jeon 미나리전, and fried rice. Additionally we ordered the yukhoe (육회, beef tartare).

Overall food quality was ok. I enjoyed the deep essence of the soup and thr freshness of the veggies. However, despite paying for the best beef (1++ grade) the beef slices were too chewy. We later on complained to the shop manager on this. Surprisingly, Minari jeon 미나리전 was the champion here. Crispy at the bite and amazing smell of the minari 미나리. Yukhoe 육회 was not memorable at all. On top of that, our guest discovered that there was a plastic particle inside the yukhoe 육회. I would assume that the plastic particle came from the packaging. This one was ugly. The fried rice was more like a porridge and we enjoyed it due to the cold weather.
One more thing to mention… Service level is very low and the servers seems to be burnt out. I think the shop needs to hire more employees.
